About Us

Welcome to the McGinnis-Lopez house, tucked into the cozy small-town of Star, Idaho—where elegant dog treats meet farm-fresh ingredients and everything is made with a whole lot of love (and just a little joyful chaos). We’re a family of five: I’m Rachelle, and alongside my husband and business partner David, our daughter Alessandra (or Allie), our wise old Beagle Nolan, and our lively Maine Coon cat Noelle, we’ve built something truly special—The Snooty Beagle.

After more than a decade of marriage, David (a Berkeley-educated demographer and financial consultant for school districts) and I decided to lean into our shared love of animals, local food, and entrepreneurship. With my background as a former RN and a passion for chemistry—with a soft spot for alchemy—we combined our strengths to launch this business from the ground up.

And we mean that literally: we constructed a full commercial micro-bakery right here on our homestead, outfitted with commercial-grade equipment and powered by eggs from our 92 hardworking hens. Every treat is handcrafted with fresh, thoughtfully sourced ingredients and tested for approval by our original snoot-in-chief, Nolan—our 11-year-old rescue Beagle who inspired the brand.

Our daughter Allie, born to us later in life, is our daily reminder of how perfect life’s timing can be. Bright, precocious, curious, and smitten with her animals, she’s already a big part of everything we do—especially when it comes to giggles and gathering eggs.
