Our cookie cakes are made with the exact same softâbaked cookie base and the same dogâsafe yogurt frosting as our individual treats. The difference in shelf life comes from the way cookie cakes are stacked, layered, and fully frosted, which naturally traps more moisture around the cookies. This keeps the cake very soft, but it also means the shelf life is shorter than our individual treats.
đ° Cookie cakes are intended to be enjoyed within 5–7 days of purchase, unless you plan to freeze them for a future celebration. When kept in the refrigerator, the cake will maintain its soft texture for the full 7 days. After that, the cake will begin to firm up — not mold — and it remains safe to consume for up to another week, depending on your texture preference. After two full weeks, we recommend discarding any remaining cake.
đ° If left out at room temperature and exposed to open air, the cake and frosting will begin to firm up within 2–3 days. This is completely normal and simply part of how our softâbaked, naturally preserved treats behave. The cake remains safe and enjoyable; it’s simply a matter of how soft you prefer it.
